Tobago Honeymoon: Things to Remember

A honeymoon is a special experience that can be made even better when you visit the right place. A Tobago Honeymoon offers you a great chance to enjoy yourself and the place as well. Unlike other Caribbean islands, Tobago is less busy and a perfect place for a relaxing vacation.

It is actually the smaller of two islands comprising a republic known as Trinidad and Tobago. Located in the southern Caribbean Sea it is southeast of Grenada and northeast of Trinidad.

Tobago has only about 300 square kilometers of land area, although it has a lot to offer. It is of volcanic origin and has many hilly regions throughout. There are large amounts of coralline limestone throughout the island. Among all of the Caribbean islands it is the one with the most preserved forests and natural scenery. With a tropical climate the island has two seasons: dry season between January to May and wet season between June to December. It lies outside of the Hurricane belt and has minimal rainfall.

In 2000, it only had a population of 54,000, with about 17,000 of the people living in the capital of Scarborough.

There are seven other parishes within Tobago known as Saint Andrew, Saint George, Saint David, Saint Paul, Saint Mary, St John and St Patrick.

The people of Tobago are primarily from African Descent though the island has been inhibited many different countries and even became a British crown colony. This rich cultural diversity results in a very interesting mix of Tobago attractions.

This island relies greatly on the economy of Trinidad since both are linked. Tourism is of course on top of the list when it comes to the main means of the economy making the place ideal for a Tobago honeymoon.

Getting here has also been made very easy as you can (without great difficulty) find flights to Tobago that is well priced and also rent a car in Tobago.

Here tourism is focused mainly on conventional beaches, protected forests, water based sports and other things which help to promote the preservation of their natural resources. It has become a popular diving spot thanks to its location where there are numerous coral communities.

With three wrecks within its boundaries tourists can view the Maverick Ferry which is the most popular of all. Once in the waters tropical fish, turtles, sharks and rays can all be viewed as well.

Throughout the island the Trinidad and Tobago dollar is the currency used, so if you are planning on going on any tours or doing any activities you need to make sure that you have this on hand. You can also have some major foreign currency on hand like th US dollar. This is usually also accepted at major accommodation spots like the big Tobago luxury hotels and all inclusive resorts in Tobago.

Other than tours on a Tobago honeymoon you can also enjoy other things.

Dining can be a great experience given the three different influences that the food has. You will find dishes that are Creole, Chinese or Indian in nature.  A lot of the dishes that you will find in the island may have been barbequed, cooked with coconut milk or stewed. Aside from these three major influences you will also find a hint of Spanish, European and Lebanese cuisine.
