Grenada
Honeymoon: An Experience of a Lifetime
|
|
The
island country of Grenada is a
sovereign state that is located in
southeast of the Caribbean Sea. To its’
northwest you will find Trinidad and
Tobago, to the northeast Venezuela and to
the southwest Saint Vincent and the
Grenadines.
The
total land area for this country is 344
square kilometers; each part of this is
filled with numerous activities and
sights to see which is what makes it a
big hit for a Grenada
Honeymoon.

Aside from the largest
island which is Grenada itself you will also be able to
find other smaller Grenadines, particularly Petit
Martinique, Diamond Island, Large Island Petit Ronde,
Caille Island, Saline Island, Carriacou and Frigate
Island. On most of these islands you will be able to
arrange a rental
car in Grenada to be able to really
explore the details of these great destinations.
Most of the 110,000
people living in the country stay in the main island
where the capital, St Georges is located. Other major
towns that you will find in here are Grenville and
Gouyave. Due to its volcanic origin the island has rich
soils and wide mountainous regions. Waterfalls and rives
are also abundant throughout the area. All this combined
with the tropical climate make for some ideal
Grenada
attractions.
Although the influence of
French culture is not as strong in this island as compared
to other places in the Caribbean it is still quite
visible.
You will find a number
of French words and terms interlaced with the daily
language of the people.
French architecture
remains visible within the old buildings that still
stand, and of course there is the undoubted presence of
French influence in the food that they cook.
Couples going on a
Grenada honeymoon will find many dishes that are seasoned
strongly with spices, much like that of New Orleans Cajun
dishes. Other than French influence there is also an
Indian influence found in the food most especially with
the use of curries and Indian sweets.
The culture of the
people of Grenada on the other hand is deeply rooted in
African ways. Festivals, dance and music is something
that plays a major role in the lives of the people. Each
year carnival activities take place where both the young
and old participate. Soca, Calypso, Reggae and Rap all
play an important role in the music of the island.
Alongside the rich
fusion of cultures found in the food and practices you
will also discover many different attractions in Grenada.
At the Grenada National Museum you can learn
more about the history of the place and the people. Take
a trip to the Levera National Park where you can
hike, swim and snorkel. If you are one who enjoys spices
then you will definitely need to visit Gouyave which is a
spice town and the center of nutmeg and mace production.
For a bit of fun you can also visit the River Antoine Rum
Distillery which is the oldest of its kind in the entire
world.
This
island has a lot to offer
couples going for a honeymoon. Here you can enjoy staying
at Grenada all inclusive resorts or
even at some spectacular Grenada luxury hotels. You will
surely enjoy the time that you can spend with your spouse
going through exciting adventures and learning more about
the culture of other people.
