When
we think about Bermuda we think about the
sun, sand and the waters. We imagine
ourselves swimming and exploring the
oceans or even just lying on the beach
getting a tan.
However if you’re going to
Bermuda and you plan to do just these
things you’ll be missing out on a whole
lot of fun.

There are many
different attractions on a Bermuda honeymoon (or normal
holiday trip)which you can enjoy during your vacation.
There is a bit of something for everybody here. Whether
you want to be with nature, want to go shopping or want
to learn more about the place you will find something to
do.
Blue Hole Park
This is a definite
must-see, especially if you are staying at
Grotto Bay. This 12 acre reserve stretches
right across this all inclusive hotel. You will feel like
you’ve entered a different world once you are here. The
surroundings are well kept and the plants are abundant.
You can observe birds from a watching post, look for the
limestone cavern or just be captured by the beauty of the
sunken cave.
Forts
Fort St. Catherine,
Fort William, Gates Fort, Fort Popple,
Fort Hamilton, etc. The list goes on. There are
numerous forts that you can visit around Bermuda and
learn a few lessons in history. These structures (erected
for defense) each tell a story of their own and
contribute to the unique history of the
island.
Lighthouses
Just as there are many
different forts to visit, there are also a number of
lighthouses in Bermuda including St. David’s Lighthouse
and Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse. Both of these were built in
the earlier times for warning and safety. They helped the
people watch out for potential danger and attacks. Today
they are a charming addition to the many different
structures of the island.
Bermuda Craft Market
This is a great
attraction for the people who enjoy being creative and
tapping into their imagination. You can find a wide
variety of crafts and craft items here. Whether you are
looking for something to give to someone or just
something to add to your own collection, you will find it
here. Glass jewelry, gems, ceramics, woodworks and
ornaments are only some of the findings
here.
Crystal and
Fantasy Caves
What can be better
than going on an adventure and seeing amazing formations
made by nature? Here you will get to see stalagmites and
stalactites that are more than 30 million years old. You
will get to see these formations not only on the ceilings
of the cave but underneath the waters as well. You can
make your way through caves and lakes then enjoy a snack
and some shopping at the café and gift
shop.
Bermuda Historical
Society Museum
Located on the outer
edge of Par-La-Ville Park is a Gregorian style home
built in 1814 by William Perot. You will be able to
discover many different artifacts that are related with
the place and different eras. Paintings, portraits,
glassware, ceramics, cedar furniture and silver flatware
can all be seen here. This is something that anyone with
a love for history and antiques will enjoy
given its grace and beauty.
